About us |
Youth Rise Together was founded in February of 2017 by Larkin Christie and Gabbi Perry, who were 15 and 16, respectively. Gabbi and Larkin were enraged by the election results and were inspired to channel their anger and fear into positive change. Each were working on individual projects, but they wanted to work together to have a larger impact. Soon, they launched their idea, and 10 of their friends joined their group. When the group started, we worked on small projects, such as writing letters and calling our representatives. We would also take time in our meetings to educate one another on issues that we were passionate about. As spring came, our group began gaining momentum. By March, we had begun to plan our first major event: a circus show to benefit Planned Parenthood. After the success of the fundraiser, we dove into numerous other projects. You can learn about our past and current projects here.
We are actively looking for new members, so if you are interested in joining, contact us! |
